CASE STUDY: ORLANDO PLUMBER TURNS SLOW SEASON INTO HIS BEST QUARTER EVER

How an Orlando plumbing company used seasonal landing pages and smart SEO to turn Q1 (historically their slowest quarter) into their highest-revenue quarter on record.

January Used to Be a Ghost Town

Mike runs a 3-man plumbing crew in Orlando, FL.

For 7 years, the pattern was the same. November and December were busy (snowbirds arriving, holiday hosting, guests flushing stuff they shouldn't). Then January hit and the phone went quiet.

February? Even worse.

Q1 was always Mike's slowest quarter. He'd burn through savings, sometimes skip his own paycheck, and just grind until spring picked back up.

Sound familiar? Yeah. Most plumbers know this cycle.

The feast-or-famine rollercoaster. Somebody please make it stop.

The Idea That Changed Everything

When Mike came to us in October 2024, he had one request:

"Help me survive January."

We told him we could do better than that. We could help him OWN January.

Here's the strategy we put together.

The Seasonal Landing Page Play

Most plumbing websites have the same generic service pages year-round. Drain cleaning. Water heater repair. Sewer line work.

Nothing changes in December. Nothing changes in March.

But homeowner search behavior changes dramatically by season. And if your website doesn't reflect that, you're leaving money on the table. Check Google Trends to see how searches shift in your area.

Here's what we built for Mike:

### Page 1: Winter Water Heater Emergency Page

Targeted keywords: "water heater not working Orlando," "no hot water Orlando," "emergency water heater repair Orlando"

Search volume for these terms triples between December and February in Florida. Snowbirds arrive, turn on water heaters that haven't run in months, and... nothing.

### Page 2: Pre-Hosting Plumbing Checkup Page

Targeted keywords: "plumbing inspection Orlando," "holiday plumbing prep," "get plumbing ready for guests"

This page launched in November, right when people start Googling "how to get my house ready for Thanksgiving guests."

### Page 3: New Year Home Improvement Page

Targeted keywords: "plumbing upgrade Orlando 2025," "bathroom renovation plumber Orlando," "kitchen plumbing remodel Orlando"

January is when people make home improvement resolutions. We made sure Mike showed up when they searched for plumbing upgrades.

### Page 4: Slab Leak Detection Page (Florida-Specific)

Florida homes are built on slabs. Slab leaks are a massive, expensive problem. And searches for slab leak detection spike in winter when cooler ground temperatures cause pipes to shift.

This page alone became Mike's #1 revenue generator.

The Google Business Profile Blitz

We didn't stop at the website. We also overhauled Mike's Google Business Profile for the season:

  1. Posted weekly Google updates about winter plumbing tips (these show up right on his GBP listing)
  2. Added 15 new photos from recent jobs (Google rewards fresh content)
  3. Updated his services list to highlight seasonal offerings
  4. Launched a review push targeting his last 30 customers (got 19 new reviews in 6 weeks)

The Results: Q1 2025

Let's see the numbers.

Q1 2024 (before us): - Total revenue: $41,000 - Inbound calls from website: 0 (he didn't have one) - Google Business Profile calls: ~12 - Jobs booked: 34

Q1 2025 (after us): - Total revenue: $97,500 - Inbound calls from website: 52 - Google Business Profile calls: 41 - Jobs booked: 78

That's a 138% increase in revenue. In his historically slowest quarter.

Read that again. His worst quarter became his best quarter. Ever.

Wipes tear.

The Slab Leak Page: The Unexpected Hero

Here's something we didn't see coming.

Mike's slab leak detection page started ranking for "slab leak Orlando" within 5 weeks of launch. By January, it was position 2 on Google.

That one page generated 14 calls in Q1. Average ticket on a slab leak job? $2,800.

That's nearly $40,000 in revenue from a single page on his website.

Mike had never even marketed slab leak detection before. He'd always done it when asked, but he never thought to put it on a website.

"I didn't know people were searching for that," he told us.

They were. They are. And now they find Mike.

Why This Worked

### 1. We Matched Content to Search Behavior

Most websites are static. Search behavior is seasonal. By creating pages that matched what people were actually searching for in Q1, we captured demand that other plumbers were ignoring.

### 2. Timing Matters

We launched the seasonal pages in October and November, giving Google time to index and rank them before the searches spiked. Most plumbers would think about this in January. By then, it's too late.

### 3. High-Intent Keywords

Every page targeted keywords with strong commercial intent. Not "how to fix a water heater" (DIY searches). But "emergency water heater repair Orlando" (someone ready to pay).

### 4. The GBP Work Compounded

Fresh photos, posts, and reviews on Google Business Profile boosted Mike's visibility in the map pack right when it mattered most.

What Mike Says Now

> "I used to dread January. Now I look forward to it. The website works when I sleep, when I'm on a job, when I'm eating dinner. It just keeps bringing calls. I wish I'd done this 5 years ago."

Don't we all, Mike. Don't we all.

Your Slow Season Doesn't Have to Be Slow

Every market has seasonal patterns. Every city has plumbing problems that spike at certain times of year.
