CASE STUDY: DENVER PLUMBING COMPANY GOES FROM PAGE 4 TO PAGE 1 IN 60 DAYS
Front Range Plumbing had a website. It just wasn't doing anything. Here's how we rebuilt it and got them ranking on page 1 in under 60 days.
Dear Plumber,
Sarah and Dave run Front Range Plumbing in Denver, Colorado. Husband-and-wife team. She handles the office. He handles the wrenches. Together they run a tight 5-person operation.
They had a website. They'd had one for 4 years.
Problem? It was sitting on page 4 of Google like it was in timeout. Nobody was finding it. Nobody was clicking on it. Nobody was calling from it.
They were paying $150/month for hosting and maintenance on a website that generated exactly zero leads.
"We kept asking our web guy why we weren't showing up on Google. He kept saying 'SEO takes time.' After 4 years, we figured maybe it takes a different web guy."
Smart people.
The Problem (A Website That Looked Good and Did Nothing)
Here's the thing. Their old website wasn't ugly. It actually looked decent. Modern design. Nice colors. Professional photos.
But looking good and performing well are two very different things.
When we audited their site, we found a laundry list of problems:
- Page speed score: 28 out of 100 on mobile. Absolutely brutal. It took 7+ seconds to load.
- No individual service pages. Every service was listed as a bullet point on one page. Google had no idea what they specialized in.
- Zero location targeting. The word "Denver" appeared twice on the entire site. Twice!
- No schema markup. Google couldn't identify them as a local plumbing business.
- No blog content. No fresh content in 4 years.
- Only 9 Google reviews on their profile. Their top competitor had 234.
- Contact form was broken. Had been broken for "a few months." Nobody noticed because nobody was using it.
Their web designer had built them a pretty brochure. Not a lead-generating machine.
Big difference.
The Rebuild
We didn't tweak their old site. We started fresh. Built a new FastLaunchWeb site from scratch and had it live in 6 days.
### Speed First The old site loaded in 7 seconds. The new one loads in 1.8 seconds. We achieved this through optimized images, clean code, fast hosting, and no bloated plugins or unnecessary scripts.
PageSpeed score went from 28 to 91. Overnight. Read our guide on why website speed matters for plumbers.
### Service Pages That Rank Instead of one generic services page, we built 7 dedicated service pages:
- Drain cleaning in Denver
- Water heater installation Denver
- Sewer line repair and replacement
- Emergency plumbing services Denver
- Leak detection Denver
- Gas line installation
- Bathroom plumbing remodel
Each page was optimized for specific keywords, included relevant content, FAQs, and clear CTAs.
### Location, Location, Location We made sure "Denver" and surrounding areas appeared naturally throughout the site. Not keyword-stuffed. Just naturally woven into the content.
Plus we built location pages for Lakewood, Arvada, Aurora, and Littleton, expanding their digital footprint across the metro area.
### Schema Markup We added LocalBusiness schema, Service schema, and FAQ schema to every relevant page. This tells Google exactly what the business is, where it's located, what it does, and helps those rich snippets show up in search results.
### The Review Push 9 reviews wasn't going to cut it. We set up Sarah with an automated review request system. Simple text messages after every job.
The Timeline
### Week 1-2 - New site launched and indexed - Google Search Console submitted - Old URLs redirected to new site - Google Business Profile updated with new website URL
### Week 3-4 - First new rankings appeared for long-tail keywords - "Emergency plumber Denver CO" hit page 2 - 14 new Google reviews came in (total: 23) - Website traffic doubled from previous month
### Week 5-6 - "Drain cleaning Denver" jumped to page 1 (position 7) - "Plumber Denver" appeared on page 2 (position 14) - 3 service pages ranking on page 1 for specific keywords - First organic lead from the new site
### Week 7-8 (Day 60) - "Plumber Denver" hit page 1 (position 9) - "Water heater installation Denver" hit page 1 (position 4) - 5 out of 7 service pages ranking on page 1 - Google Maps 3-pack appearance for "plumber near me" in Denver - 31 Google reviews (4.9 average)
Page 4 to page 1. In 60 days.
The Numbers
### Before (Old Website) - Monthly website visitors: ~40-60 - Monthly calls from website: 0-1 - Google ranking for "plumber Denver": Page 4+ - Monthly hosting/maintenance cost: $150
### After 60 Days (New Website) - Monthly website visitors: 580+ - Monthly calls from website: 18-22 - Google ranking for "plumber Denver": Page 1 - Monthly hosting cost: Included in package
### After 6 Months - Monthly website visitors: 1,200+ - Monthly calls from website: 35-40 - Google reviews: 78 (4.9 average) - Dave hired 2 additional technicians - Revenue up approximately 40% year-over-year
Sarah told us: "We went from wondering if we should even have a website to wondering how we ever survived without a good one."
What Made the Difference
This wasn't about making the site prettier. Their old site was already decent looking.
It was about making the site WORK.
Here's what actually drove results:
Speed. Going from 7 seconds to 1.8 seconds meant people actually stuck around long enough to see the site. Their bounce rate dropped from 78% to 34%.
Dedicated service pages. Instead of competing for one generic keyword, they were now competing for 7 specific keywords. And winning.
Location targeting. Mentioning Denver (and surrounding cities) naturally throughout the content told Google exactly where this business operates.
Reviews. Going from 9 to 31 reviews in 60 days was huge for Google Maps rankings. It was the single biggest factor in their 3-pack appearance.
Technical SEO. Schema markup, proper meta tags, clean URL structure, sitemap submission... the boring stuff that nobody sees but Google loves.
The Lesson
A good-looking website that doesn't rank is just an expensive business card nobody looks at.
Performance matters. Speed matters. SEO matters. The pretty design is just the wrapper. The strategy underneath is what generates calls.
Sarah and Dave were paying $150/month for 4 years for a website that did nothing. That's $7,200 down the drain. Pun intended.
Their FastLaunchWeb site cost a fraction of that and started producing results in weeks, not years.

P.S. Sarah told us she almost gave up on having a website entirely. After 4 years of paying for something that didn't work, she figured "maybe websites just don't work for plumbers." They do work. They just have to be built right. If your current website isn't getting you calls, it's not that websites don't work. It's that YOUR website doesn't work. There's a big difference. Let us show you what's possible.
